Frequently Asked Questions
How will I get rid of my muckheap?
White Horse Bedding composts much quicker than traditional forms of bedding. Because of this and because of the increased ratio of waste to bedding on your muckheap your muckheap represents an asset rather than a cost to you. The Carbon Nitrogen ratio of our bedding once composted is approx 17 which is well below the theoretical carbon fixing ratio of 20. Traditional shavings muck heaps have a C:N ratio of approximately 69. Moreover we are currently in the process of certifying our bedding as organic so that one can muck spread in confidence on organic land.
